Handwritten in naskhi script, featuring a gold border on each leaf. The leaf on display is fully illuminated and contains the 1st surah (chapter) of the Qur’an, Al-Fatiha (The Opening).
Naskhi script was developed in the 10th century and has been refined over time to become the most commonly used script for printing in Arabic, particularly the Qur’an.
